Sailing, sailing, over the lake so blue...

Today (7/7/11) we FINALLY  began our journey! After much cleaning, fueling the tank, and putting air in our new dinghy we left Torrensen Marina in Muskegon about 5pm. As we were coming through the channel than connects Muskegon Lake with Lake Michigan the Lake Express ferry to Wisconsin was right behind us! Quite an imposing figure I must say!! Anyway, I got out of the way as quickly as possible... she was moving pretty fast!
We entered the big lake, made some adjustments to the main sail and the jib and we were finally under sail. It's going to be a beautiful trip to Whitehall.
9:07pm We have arrived! we are anchored in  Whitehall on White Lake. We had a great sail... gentle winds out of the NW at about 10 knots with calm water. We in a little bay called Indian Bay with no wind at all.  That's a good thing! So now it's time for a big boy/girl beverage!
Funny story... we were so excited and anxious to leave we forgot to get a bag of ice. So tonight the beverages consist of beer and wine only!
What's a girl to do!!
Check out the pics of the Lake Express and she went by us.
Love and Blessings Everyone,
Margo and Skip
