June 29 and 30!

A slight delay in posting... I had a slight technical malfunction.  Where is Dave when I need him!
On Wednesday we had a gorgeous cloudless, azure blue sky here in Grand Haven, MI! We went to the Farmers Market (Wed. and Sat.) to check out what was available. Fresh blueberries, strawberries and raspberries; new  potatoes, both red and white; too many flowers to even begin to describe; and homemade doughnuts! Skip was in heaven.
We then walked from the Farmers Market at Chinook Pier to the Red Lighthouse and back. A two mile treck! Goodness I was pooped!  But in a good way. On the way back, two charter fishing boats had come in with their catch. They had a great day! A total of 22 salmon of several varieties.  At this pier there is a "fish cleaning station". Quite impressive I must say! We stopped for a bit to watch the charter folks clean and filet the salmon. Oh my, what an art. I hope I can do that well if/when we catch salmon.
Next we headed for the boat. We put in a full afternoon there. And was able to get several things accomplished.  We came home tired but satisfied that we had done enough for one day.
After dinner of pesto shrimp pasta, we headed back to the boardwalk to hear the big band music! Goodness there was a full house on the boardwalk and they were all dancing - sumba, cha-cha, rumba, waltz, swing... anything you would  want. Even line dancing! We sat behind some folks that we learned later were from Newburgh! Our world gets smaller and smaller!

Today was another fruitful day at the boat. We got the jib and the main-sail  up  today! Quite a task given that the wind began to blow which could have been hazardous to our health!! But we goter' done and felt good about that.
We're home now, relaxing at bit before dinner.  Still much to do but we're so much closer than we were! The boat goes into the water on July 5th! Very excited!  Hopefully I haven't forgotten everything I new!

Love and blessings to all,
Margo and Skip

Jonah Update

Well it's been awhile since my last post and much has happened since then.
On June 8 Skip and Chris followed the boat to Muskegon, Michigan where Jonah was put in a cradle.  The day before that, I had surgery to repair a ruptured disc, so I didn't make the trip!  I see the doctor tomorrow and if all goes well and he releases me, we'll begin our sailing adventure on Sunday.
Jonah is waiing for us to get on board and begin our sails northward.  More to come later.
Make it a great day! Be blessed,
Margo

A Bit of a Setback...

Wanted to give everyone an update about our Big Adventure!

A little background..... we had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend at Ky Lake with the kids.  Most where able to join us! Also that same weekend, Hannah, our grandaughter, graduated from Harrison High School on Saturday. So proud of her! Now on to more school! Yikes!

On Monday when I got home, I was  going to water one of the flower beds so  I bent over to turn on the faucet and my back popped. I could hear it!  I eventually would up in the ER; MRI; etc. Long story short, I'm scheduled for surgery on Tuesday.

The boat will be moved on Thursady, June 9 as planned.  Our son Chris, will help Skip get that done. So our sail is pushed back by 2/3  weeks.  We feel blessed that this happened before we left.

We now have a game plan and will work that plan! The trip will go on, just a bit delayed.

Blessings to you all,
M
