Monday, July 11

The day certainly ended better than it began! About 7am the rains began followed by the wind. Everytime I think of the "wind" I think about Skip telling Kevin... never underestimate the power of the wind! It seemd that out of nowhere the winds turned ugly. Thankfully we were still at Frankfort watching the radar along with other boaters. Waiting out the storm.
So since we were waiting I made blueberry muffins!! Delish!
About 9:30 the weather changed again and it was overcast. After checking the radar we decided to leave Frankfort and continue our journey North. We had a pretty good trek as we headed to Leland.
Once we got to the big lake we set the main and began our journey. Winds 8-10 out of the South. As the day progressed the wind continued to build until we were hitting 11-15 knots of wind with a boat speed of between 6-7 knots. The sun came out and the day ended on a great note.
We pulled into Leland Harbor, municipal dockage at 5:15pm, just in time for cocktails! Joyce I wish you were here to share a glass of wine with me!! We walked around town, did a little shopping and went to the grocery. Hard to believe with all the food we have on board that we would need anything but alas we do!
Leland is called Fish Town. There is an old fishing village that is now little shops, boutiques and eatery's. Very quaint and a must see when you're in Leland.
Fixed dinner on board, showered and began to walk the docks to look at the other boats as the sun was setting. We hadn't gone to far and met another couple hailing from Bayfield, Ontario - Chris and Lorraine. About that same time Chris asked Skip if there was supposed to be water coming from the bilge pump. Not good at all. So we excused ourselves to go find out what the heck was going on. Skip found a disconnected water line in the shower! It's always something! One of the prerequisites to being a boatowner is that you have to be pretty handy. David, take note!
Love and blessings to all,
We miss you terribly!
Margo and Skip
